Tank cleansing question

I came across a Lesco Commercial plus 200 gallon spray rig. The previous owner sprayed glyphosate out of it. I've read various things indicating you shouldn't spray anything but glyphosate from a tank that's been used for such, or you can clean it with ammonia and use it to spray other herbicides or pre-emergent.

I have Tif 419 and do plan on using this machine to continue spraying glyphosate on some rural property fence lines/driveway, etc., but am curious if it's a huge no-no to try to spray anything else with it.

I'm guessing the answer is to stay away from anything else but wanted to check with those who know. Seems like I read where if you clean out the equipment well, there isn't enough residual left to hurt.

Can I get some insight. Thanks for all the help.

I bought some tank cleaner from Tractor Supply to use just to be safe as I didn't want to ding up the new sod after spraying the old stuff out with Round Up and Fusilade. I went to open it and like a dumba** I smelled it (it's a habit of mine) and got hit with straight ammonia!!!! It's basically ammonia with some soap for a surfactant. I think as long as you use something with high pH it will take care of whatever was in there which is basically an acid. You could even use something like Super Clean which is a high pH cleaner.

This is basically how I lost most of my sense of smell, except with pool chemicals. You feel real dumb right after it happens.

I'm finally switching from a granular to liquid plan so based on this thread I really only need 1 back pack sprayer for fertilizer / pesticides / fungicides / herbicides.

Just clean them all out between uses with soap and water and rinse?

Please confirm

as Ive seen different things and felt like I needed one for fertilizers and one for everything else

Thanks

Yes; triple rinse with water typically does the job.
