Home Depot Price Match

I checked with Home Depot (HD) online to make sure they could price match an $89 DeWalt LED light that's on Amazon for $49. Their online chat representative told me they could. I told the online representative that I would just stop by HD to pick one up instead of having it shipped to me.

A clerk at the HD store told me they do not price match Amazon. Then another clerk called a manager who told her the exact same thing, "We don't price match Amazon." I exited the store, pulled out my phone, and messaged the HD online chat representative. She price matched Amazon for me, took my payment information via link, and sent me a confirmation email. The process took 2-4 minutes. I walked back into HD to show them the confirmation email and chat log from the representative. You should have seen their faces: 😳

Home Depot ONLINE will price match Amazon IF the item says "SOLD & SHIPPED by Amazon" ONLY. They will NOT price match resellers on Amazon.

So, you spent all that time and gas, etc., driving to Home Depot and then calling back Home Depot just to get the same price you could’ve gotten in one simple step at Amazon?! Amazon would’ve had it on your front porch by the next day?

Home Depot and Lowe’s used to beat by 10% the best price you could find, didn’t matter from where. Completed many a project using that perk. Those days are long gone.

Explain to everyone how you mixed up phone calls with the fact that I used "ONLINE HOME DEPOT CHAT." That isn't remotely close to calling anyone on the phone now is it? It's literally text. Home Depot customer service will text you or you can talk to them via online chat through a mobile web browser. You're going to be yelling at me to get off your lawn next I bet (👴).

Where did I say I drove miles to Home Depot? I live 1.6 miles (3 minutes) from Home Depot. There is literally a scenic and paved trail-path from our HOA neighborhood to the shopping center where Home Depot is located. Kids use their escooters on that path to grab In N Out burgers or go to Target in that same shopping center.

Maybe you should go back and read that "I messaged Home Depot Online" after I exited the store to receive the price match." Once again, I didn't call anyone.

I paid $43, not the Amazon price of $49. Home Depot gave me a military discount ON TOP of the price match.
