Looking to overseed my lawn this fall after years of using garbage cheap seeds, looking to finally move to a better lawn.

Right now my lawn is mostly Tall Fescue that I don't want to nuke but start overseeding this year and mix in darker shades of green which leads me to this forum asking for help.

Needs:
  1. Looking for tall fescue seed as I need good heat tolerance and year-round color.
  2. Looking for dark green color, right now lawn is lighter green, want to start mixing in darker green color
  3. Lawn is nearly all full sun year round, shade is not needed for consideration
I was looking at Snapback RR as my first choice or possible BBU (but concerned about the seed not being weed free) or open to other suggestions as well.

Thanks!

You might want to also check out twin city seed's TTTF mixes. Specifically the Resilience II, or also the Blue Resilience mix which is the same blend as Resilience II but with some KBG added in. The cultivars in these mixes are probably a bit higher quality than what is in the Jonathan Green BBU, and should also have a low percentage of weed seed/inert material. But I know many are happy with BBU. The Snapback RR is also a solid choice. Anyways just a few more options to consider.

Resilience II: RESILIENCE™ II Turf Type Tall Fescue Blend - Twin City Seed Company
Blue Resilience: BLUE RESILIENCE Tall Fescue & Kentucky Bluegrass Mixture - Twin City Seed Company

If you can pull it off do a complete Reno
My attempt at over seeding TTTF in a mostly Rye and KBG has turned into a blotchy mess.

4 over seeds with Lesco all pro team in one area

I have one small area I did with JG BB original no Blue grass.

What blue grass I have in other areas is really off color to the rest and I dont like it much.
Reconsider doing a full reno.

If I knew then what I know now moment
