I’ve never been under the impression that fungicides, especially the systemics, work that quickly. My understanding is that they need to enter the plant and fight the disease from within. The contact ones have a different mode of action but I still don’t imagine it works overnight.

 

I don’t use ppz regardless of the date on the box. Azoxysttobin much better.

Are you sure it was mycelium and not Bermuda spider webs? When was the last time you sprayed for bugs?

 

I'm fairly certain. I treated for bugs 4 days prior.

 

Azoxystrobin does nothing for dollarspot.

I agree Azoxy is not labeled for DS but I do wonder why NC State recommends briskway, headway and strobe T on their publication for DS. All 3 of those contain Azoxy. Does the combo create some magic?

 

The Azoxy label mentions mixing with other fungicides for DS so maybe there is some sort of enhanced action by mixing it.

 

The propiconazole in fungicides like headway takes care of the DS while the azoxy handles the other fungi. I have been rolling my own headway, which uses a lot less AI overall and has been great. Doing an app in April and May to as a preventive and prior to using PGR. I don't have any DS here in GA and weather has been conducive lately. Really wet, humid, cloud cover, etc.

 

What rates do you use? I go with the low rates for both when I mix for preventative applications.

 

I use the headway preventive label rates and back into the required AI from azoxy and propto roll my mix. You don't use the rates from the individual fungicides.

 

Gotcha. Confusing because you said Azoxy is much better when he was mentioning DS issues. I guess you were meaning Azoxy is much better for large patch.

 

Yes. More correctly I find Azoxy to just be a better product in general. I did not intend to side track the thread, and I apologize to the OP.
