@Osh it depends on the bermuda ... but in general, yes a taller height will stripe better. Repetitive mowing/cutting in the same directions can also "burn in" the stripes by sort of training the bermuda to grow the directions mowed.

 

Technically yes but they usually don't last more than a day or two especially during peak growing season. I think .5" is the sweet spot for most bermuda types. The taller it is the more leaf blade there is so it should stripe better with a greens mower. You could also "burn in" the stripes by mowing in the same direction every time but that will lead to other issues down the road like grain and scalping.

 

Personally I've had the most noticeable stripes at 1". More than HOC I think that it needs to be very dense and try get your color as dark as possible to get some contrast with the light reflection.

I have seen some mowers that have a roller bolted to the back to help stripe.

 

My 419 stripes well between 3/8" and 1/2". The photo below is from mowing 3/8" today. It's still stuggling to get fully greened up but has made some decent progress this week.

 

A level yard drastically helps with striping. My yard stripes much better after I started doing regular leveling. Sweet spot is 1/2 inch maybe a tad higher for me.

 

I think 3/8 or less produces better lasting stripes. Get the density up, and with the right lighting you can double cut and get the change in direction with the angle and light.
It’s also less likely to be affected by any foot traffic and doesn’t show much.
