bermuda striping

what’s the best hoc to get stripes? i’ve always likes mowing it at 1/2inch, would mowing at 3/4 leave better stripes?

Technically yes but they usually don't last more than a day or two especially during peak growing season. I think .5" is the sweet spot for most bermuda types. The taller it is the more leaf blade there is so it should stripe better with a greens mower. You could also "burn in" the stripes by mowing in the same direction every time but that will lead to other issues down the road like grain and scalping.

Personally I've had the most noticeable stripes at 1". More than HOC I think that it needs to be very dense and try get your color as dark as possible to get some contrast with the light reflection.

I have seen some mowers that have a roller bolted to the back to help stripe.
