I have a little experience with this in my backyard testing. From what I've seen, zenith will sort of coexist with St Aug. Meyer didn't seem to and seems like it got overrun due to my necessarily high HOC of 2-2.5" (ZTR and hilly terrain). In the smoother areas where the cut quality is best, the zenith seems to be very slowly encroaching on the SA. And when I say slowly, at the rate I see it moving, it will take 6000 years to fully take over. In places where the clay was really bad and the SA would not seem to spread, I sprigged zoysia, and it did great, amended the soil, and then the SA took over that area a year later.
Bottom line, I think your best chance of getting them to reach a truce is a medium blade zoysia, not a fine blade zoysia.
