I have an area of dense shade in my yard in San Antonio. I was going to plant some Zoysia seed there today. I bought some of the Pennington Zenith seed. However, I was reading that Zeon is actually better for shade. So what to do. Is Zenith really ok? Plant it anyway? Get Zeon instead? Where can I order quality Zeon grass seed from? Thank you.

I'm going into my 3rd summer with Zeon. It replaced a Bermuda yard that was thinning in areas due to trees in my neighbor's yards. The Zeon has done really well in the shade, even in the areas that only get max of 3 hours of sunlight. Compared to the areas of the yard that get full sun there's not much difference other than vertical growth is subdued a bit.

Very happy with the shade tolerance of Zeon FWIW. I can't speak to Zenith....
