I'm going into my 3rd summer with Zeon. It replaced a Bermuda yard that was thinning in areas due to trees in my neighbor's yards. The Zeon has done really well in the shade, even in the areas that only get max of 3 hours of sunlight. Compared to the areas of the yard that get full sun there's not much difference other than vertical growth is subdued a bit.

Very happy with the shade tolerance of Zeon FWIW. I can't speak to Zenith....

No one. Zeon is only available as sod.

 

how much area are you talking about? If you want to nip this in the bud get you some Zeon sod and install it. Not only do you get full coverage instantly but you don't have to worry about seeding issues. Zenith can take 2-3 months to fully grow in!

 

Maybe 200 sq ft. I planted Zenith Zoysia in a different part of the yard a few years ago. Took 2 months to sprout. But that was part shade and there was a bit more sun there. Looks great now. The yard is largely Bermuda.

 

Maybe Ill just get some St Augustine sod locally and call it good.
