Wild Violet in lawn

I am looking to kill a few wild violets and other weeds in my lawn. I have used some Ortho WeedClear, and 2,4-D. What I have noticed that the recommended amounts don't seem very potent. I can tell that it will effect the plant but after 2 sprayings, the plants seems to still survive. I spot spray, not blacket the entire lawn.

I am thinking of upping the amount used. (example: the Ortho says 1 oz for 1 gallon of water. Maybe 1.5 oz for 1 gallon.) On the 2,4-D label, I can't not find the measurements. So I have been very conservative on how much I use. Does anyone have any ideas?
