What's wrong with my FAS application?

Hi all. I applied FAS for the first time on my lawn approximately three weeks ago. Unfortunately, my lawn looks no different than before, and it looks the same as my neighbors who does not apply FAS. I apply to 1000sq ft total at the following rate:

2oz FS
1.7oz AS
.18oz PGR
.12lb Urea

Any idea what the issue could be? I ordered all products last fall and stored them all in my basement.

Appreciate any advice!

i started out at 2oz/k and never noticed any difference. Ive upped mine to 5.5oz/k of FS and the results have been much better.

i dont know if if id be as concerned about it turning orange (both effective and ineffective tank mixes have turned orange for me) but also, as others have said i would adjust your mixing sequence and check the pH of your water before adding the FS.

Thanks so much, I will give this a try and report back on results.

For foliar applications, chelated iron is better than salts of iron. Iron HEDTA or iron dictate would be examples of chelated iron.

Anyway, your soil might already have enough iron.
This is not match the study Kreuser did.

OP: the only other observation I would make is that mixing iron sulfate and ammonium sulfate in a jug with tap water isn't quite the same as starting with ferrous ammonium sulfate, which--while those two things are indeed ingredients--is prepared with another reagent as well as with heat, and the recrystallized.

(I'm assuming--based on your opening post--that "FS" means ferric sulfate or ferrous sulfate, and "AS" ammonium sulfate).

Also--and this, generally speaking, I am more sure of--the presence of the other stuff in your tank mix could definitely interfere with any aspect of the uptake and/or observed effect you were looking for. I'm not saying I'm sure it did, but I'm sure it could, and so that's something to think about.

I would humbly suggest--if you want to try this again--to focus on two things. First, if possible, try to find a product containing FAS. Second (not sure if you already did this anyway), after spraying, let the material dry and stay there for a bit of time.

@sheepfescue, this thread is over 3 years old. The original OP has not posted anything nor replied to any thread since 2020. This thread was resurrected by someone that wanted to know what FAS meant.
