I've come across a used Toro Turbo Power 36" walk behind that is for sale. The current owner is working on a price for his end, but I figured I'd ask some of you on here for an opinion.

Serial number starts with 401.xxx.xxx so it looks to be a 2017.

It has a bagger.

No hour meter, but seller estimates it to be around 50 hours. Seldom used.

Any opinions? How about general thoughts on the mower?

Being belt drive (not hydro) and fixed deck (not floating) makes it less expensive and somewhat less desirable than higher end commercial walk behinds, but it looks like a clean mower. Probably seldom used because a lot of commercial guys buy a mower this size only to mow properties with narrow gates on the back yard.

The belt drive is workable, but note you have to shift the transmission (the lever sticking out the back under the fuel tank/handle bars) if you want powered reverse.

I mean I think a time master for 6" less, personal pace and 3k$ less is the better play here.

That thing looks heavy as F and for the cost. Its not screaming value to me.

I'd low ball him $1,500. If not just buy a time master.

I mean what does this really get you except take more space than a time master and make it harder to mow than a time master ?

603cc vs 223cc, 1"-4.25" vs 1.25"-4.25" cut, real wheels, heavier duty machine....etc. One is a home gamer quality machine, one is a legitimate commercial machine. It's an apples to oranges comparison IMO. Not much different then trying to compare a cal trimmer or one of the other residential reel mowers to an actual greens mower.

Nothing wrong with a time master, it's simply not a commercial machine for a reason.

Don't forget ground speed. This thing will mow circles around a TimeMaster/TurfMaster.

The T-Bar controls work pretty well, they were better suited to a hydro drive though. Beware that they are a bit of a hazard in certain situations where you may need to maneuver a slope next to a solid wall/fence or if there is something overhanging where the push bar can get snagged. Pretty easy conversion to pistol grip or even Exmark ECS should you really hate them.
