Can anyone tell what weed this is in my Bermuda? The plantsnap app says a type of nutsedge. These apps are usually wrong.

I may I have something similar in my Bermuda but despite my best efforts I have never been able to figure out exactly what it is. It's pretty resilient and lived through a lot of standard weed treatments. A few years ago I blasted the two bigger patches of it with roundup and it killed it off. That dinged up the bermuda in those areas of course but it's since filled it. Now I just pull it when I see it here, just little strays left across the backayrd here and there. Over time it's now almost all gone.

It definitely isn't nutsedge though. Nutsedge grows very high and wispy in usually 3 pronged shoots, not in clumps like that. The color of that weed is very similar to nut sedge so that's what's likely tripping the app.

This is what nutsedge looks like. You'll also notice nutsedge explode after rainfall, loves water and it will very quickly rise above the normal lawn.

@Zaqwert, that's definitely yellow nutsedge. I have heard that spraying it with glyphosate is the same as pulling it. The gly burns down the plant but the nutlets are left behind and one weed turns into five. Certainty is your best bet this time of year but it's a very slow deliberate kill so you have to be patient. If you want some instant gratification, sulfentrazone will kill it quickly but usually requires multiple applications. I have been battling green kyllinga in my yard for three seasons now so I have pretty much eliminated all the yellow nutsedge by alternating Certainty and Sulfentrazone. I currently do not see any sedges so I may be making progress. Now spurge on the other hand...

The picture I posted was one for reference of nutsedge, not of my yard, I had some stuff more similiar to OP's.

That latest picture OP, I see what could be some nutsedge along with something else. The big clumps are probalby not nutsedge but those little shoots sprinkled about certainly look like it.

You could pot one of those clumps and grow it out. Weeds that get mowed regularly can look very different than in their natural state. And you may end up with an inflorescence that will aid in your id. I once had a mystery weed, that turned out to be ladies tresses, a native orchid.
