I dont believe your tips are bleached. I believe they are damaged and stressed. You need to sharpen or replace your blades on your lawnmower. It’s ripping and tearing at the grass.

That's a disappointment because it is a new blade on 2 mows down

 

After the new blade, did you adjust the reel to bed knife to make sure it was cutting paper cleanly all the way across?

 

How are you mowing? i know you have a small lawn, so a manual reel mower makes sense. But those torn grass blades suggest a very dull rotary mower.

 

guess I better return this blade. I will look into a reel mower later this summer

 

Is the new blade an Ego branded mower blade? Normally they are sharpened well coming from the factory.
