Swardman 6 vs 10 blade reel

I'm about to pull the trigger on an Edwin 2.1 and wanted to see if there is any reason to get the 6 blade reel? The 10 blade only cost $40 more so seems like a no brainer?

I have zoysia and will probably start with a 1" to 1.5'' HOC at first and work my way down to .5 and below."

Am I missing something or is the 10 blade the obvious choice? Will the 10 blade not cut taller grass or something?

I have the 10 blade and like it. I cut twice a week at 1/2 inch Bermuda and I'm shaving off like 1/4 of the grass at each mowing.

The 10 blade does well when you are only taking like 1/2 inch max off of the grass. It does not do well cutting 2 inch grass down to 1/2 for example. If I wanted to do that with the 10 blade, I'd do it in steps. Probably the 6 blade would work better for those who cut once a week.

Consider getting 2 reels.. One will be available to use when the other one is sent back to Lee for sharpening.

Glad I asked! Thank you and I will go with the 6 blade.
You can always go with the 10-blade reel when you are ready and then keep the 6 on standby as a backup if the 10-blade is down for repair or sharpening.
I started with the 6 and got a 10. If I had to do it over I would have bought a second 6 and been done with it.

The 10 blade works well but I decided to mow > 0.50 and the 10 blade doesn't do as good a job up there.
