Summer Fertilizer Plan

I'm looking for a plan about a summer fertilizer as we approach the middle of June.

I've been spoon feeding AMS weekly but would like something spreadable to wean me off weekly liquid feeds if possible. The spoon feed technique was definitely worthwhile to get last years sod taking off.

Is now an optimal time to get one of those summer slow release type fertilizers down?

My total N this spring has been 1.2lb per 1K

I threw down some 22-0-10 slow release a week ago, (0.6# N/1k) not knowing the heat wave was coming. Got me at 1.8# N/1k for the year. I had some 10-0-20 that I would have rather used, thanks Captain Hindsight. Looks like a rollecoaster of temps though, not straight 100F, at least here. If we get some rain, it shouldn't be too big of a deal. I only water if its critical during the season. Maybe I skip the late July feeding if the lawn checks out.

I think if you've already put down over a pound of nitrogen this spring, you could just wait until fall. Looks like temps are really going to warm up. If you have irrigation, you could maybe switch to biweekly spoon feeding. I'd just wait until fall though.

But, I'm new here.
