I have a St. Augustine lawn that has been green all summer until the last 3 weeks. As the pictures shows I am getting patches of brown grass. Any suggestions on what may be the cause?

Could be anything from grubs to armyworms to chinch bugs to various types of fungus. Need to do a soapy water test to look for armyworms/sodwebworms, pull test to see if it comes out by the roots and if so look for grubs, and get close up photos of blades to see if there are any with brown/tan spots or lesions on them.

There was a guy on youtube (I forget who) but he was saying that if you have a brown circle and there are some grass blades that are still alive towards the center then it's most likely brown patch. But if you have a brown circle with no grass alive then its bug related. Also he said that brown patch related issues mostly occur in shady areas but not always. And that bug related issues usually occur in areas that get full sun.

Also if the leaf blades look spotty with "acid burn looking spots", then most likely brown patch. You probably might want to aerate that area as well just in case to allow better air flow and circulation in case it is brown patch. And maybe make sure the sprinklers are hitting that area evenly as well. And that your not watering at night.
