So after 4 years of paying for lawn treatments, I'm finally going out on my own. My lawn is 4 years old now and has never really been unhealthy.
I am concerned however about the excessive amount of thick intertwined short top growth that has begun to take over large areas of my lawn.
Last year my HOC was 4". I have just begun to reduce back down to the next lowest setting of 3 5/8", which was my HOC for the first 3 years.
I'm not exactly sure what has contributed to this but I would like to correct it if possible. Not all part of my lawn look like this. Maybe only the parts that get the most Sun I'm guessing.
Can this be corrected by bringing the HOC down further?
Liquid de-thatch maybe?
I've started to manually thin out the dense areas a little but I'm not sure what result this will produce.
Thanks for your suggestions
