Sod cutter to move sod or lay new sod

I am having a patio put in and having my driveway extended. I was thinking of cutting the sod and moving it to a location where the builder stopped the Bermuda. Is there an advantage of doing that or should I just buy new sod and lay it down?

definitely cut it and move it. Would be a double waste otherwise. Waste of perfectly good grass/sod where you're extending to and perfectly good waste of money on new sod when you've already got it.
Agree, plus you may not be able to match the cultivar unless you know specifically what the builder put down.

Looking at the same sort of project- putting a patio in an area that comes off the North side of my house, and there's a bare area from last season that needs sod. But the grass in the would-be patio area is very thin + full of moss due to the shade it gets in all parts of the year but Summer. So while I could go rent a sod cutter, I wonder if the 120sf of turf is even worth saving.
