Personally, I wouldn't put that down. .41% is a lot and state to state differs in what is considered other crop vs weed. The last thing you want to do is introduce any Poa A/T or you'll be struggling with it for years.

Let's just say for arguments sake there are 500,000 seeds per pound for TTTF (it is around that number - higher for KBG lower for PRG because of seed size). That means that bag contains roughly 5,000,000 seeds total of which roughly 20,000 are "other crop" seeds.

 

I guess in retrospect, I should have asked these questions before ordering. I wish they would just list this sort of stuff on the site. I would have totally stayed away.

I'm really surprised. I thought Hancock was supposed to be a good seed supplier. I ordered from hogan this year and their service was great and I have good germination.

 

I actually emailed Hancock when I was looking into seed and asked them about the weed seed and other crop seed in their tttf mix and they emailed me the label. I will not be using their seeds in my yard. Too many weed seeds and other crop seeds.

 

WOW! Other crop there is almost 5%! No noxious seed, however. Better than mine. I have never seen anything other than "None Found" next to Noxious Seed/Weed on a seed label. I think that is what surprised me the most. Even more than the .41% other crop.

 

Ya my opinion is this blend is crap. Maybe Hancock has some other blends that are good i wouldn't use this one. You might be better using something you can get local at an agway or SiteOne. I have heard good things about the GCI TTTF seed too.

I'm confused with the 9 hairy chest seeds . If they counted them why not just toss them out ?

 

You might put that label on Oregon seed's thread. I've never seeen noxious weeds other than none found. Was it cheap? I recognize essential. It's an excellent cultivar. Don't know the others

 

You got exactly what you pay for. I did the same mistake order from them endup to use only half of the seeds in the areas where I'm not walking. Rest went to trash can.

I also have never seen anything listed for Noxious Weeds. It was like $36/10lb bag.

I thought I had heard good things about them from another thread and figured I would try it out, but I won't buy again. It will be GCI and United Seed from here on out. I'll give the rest of the bag to my Dad 😁.
