We will be launching The Revolution 26 in September which is a mower we’ve been designing in partnership with Masport. Although the foundation of our mower was built on the Olympic 660, we have made some incredible advancements to meet the needs of our USA market. We made 12 changes to the stock Masport mower we started with as the foundation.
-foam grips
-folding handlebars
-independent drive and reel control
-height of cut sticker
-rubber tread on rear drum
-paint scheme
-plastic gras catcher not metal so it doesn’t rust or dent
-relief ground reel from factory
-grooved front roller with weight
-Honda GX160 engine
-factory pivot points for shops to give an precise grind
-QR code on mower which leads to how to page and parts
-owners manual and service manual for shops
-3 features we have not released yet

Plus, the mower is all chain driven, backlaps with just a 1/2” socket without removing chains, and a reel to bedknife adjustment with the ease of just turning 2 bolts (no retainers to loosen and tighten like all other mowers).

its important to recognize this is a residential reel mower, but is built for commercial use at a MSRP of $2799, but we will have a preorder sale of $2299.

Yes, I bought a brand new 660 with rubber on the rear differential drum / Honda GX160. Purchased direct from Scott Sweeney at Seago International Hickory,NC. Total garbage. Reel to bedknife adjustment was a pain. Could not cut paper all the way across. Eventually traded it for a brand new YBravo 25” rotary mower. The mower with the GX, front roller and empty metal catcher weighed in at about 168 pounds. It bounced around like a basketball on my Zoysia Emerald.I figured it would have had better stability. My trusty Trimmer 25” commercial weighs 171 Honda GX 200, with (no front roller) and has much better control on my Zoysia Emerald than the Masport. Also, throttle output control adjustment is made out of metal instead of plastic.

I also just watched the 8/14/23 youtube with Ron Henry. I loved how forthcoming Lee Purcell was about the mower and future plans in the coming years. Lee gets it. I'm on my 3rd season with my Swardman Edwin 2.1 which has over 200 hours on the hour meter, and while it has been a pretty good mower I'm ready to try something different. The Revolution seems to check all the boxes except the cartridge system. I'm curious how robust the split-drum differential is (hopefully better than Swardman?).

Looks promising. In general, I like competition and options and the reelrollers team seem like good people. I am new to reel mowing this year. Like my used 27" Tru-cut a lot, but interested in other options.

My thoughts:
  • I wish the gas version was a cartridge system, so you could run multiple attachments. Looking forward to the cartridge system and the electric mower in 2026 that was mentioned in Ron Henry's video.
  • Wondering how well the rear drum treads will climb hills. This is important for me in my current yard.
  • Honda engine is a plus.
  • I think it's priced well with the $500 pre-order discount.

Hmmm, no electric option?
I'll wait for version 2. Hopefully, they'll have a battery version with an interchangeable cartridges that can be mailed.
In the Ron Henry video announcement, it was mentioned both cartridges and battery powered will be coming in a couple more years. I really, really want to buy the initial version but cannot justify it as my real need is a mower with the verticutter cartridge. I don’t care for the battery system as my lawn is too big to worry about running numerous batterie. Gas powered will be best for my application.

I must have misunderstood in the video, I thought I heard you say the reel would be removable so that you don’t have to transport the whole mower to the shop to grind the reel. Did I make that up?

I need a new bed knife for my Edwin and I’m local so I might swing by and save on shipping. Would love to take a peek if y’all are doing show-and-tell and aren’t too busy.

I just added another 3k of Zorro in the front yard and, while I have really loved the Swardman cartridge system, that extra 3k really highlights my need for something with a little more solid feel to it. The rubberized rear drum would be helpful too since I’m on just a bit of an incline in the front.

Sorry for the delayed response, it’s been crazy the past 30 days. The card is charged at time of ordering which is why we are offering the $500 discount. We will have several hundred mowers arriving so if you prefer to wait until next year when we have physical stock, the price will be $2799.99 but we will be able to ship immediately.

I have been absent of these forums as life got busy and lawn care took a back seat. Sold my Swardman and have been cutting with a rotary mower since, but have been looking to get my lawn back to what it was. This looks great except for the lack of a cartridge system which is a shame.

One question for Lee @Reelrollers : the rubber drum on my Swardman peeled off after one month of use, what can you say to persuade me that this wouldn't happen with the Revolution?

Something we learned with Swardman was they sold us on a mower platform they said would have upgrades right away. Once we sold several they pushed back on the HD upgrades we were promised. This time around, we took our time and ONLy brought the Revolution to market once we had the “final” version, not their original model with promises to make improvements. Masport has been absolutely amazing! Huge resources and a full team of 5 engineers dedicated to us. I personally have been mowing with our original prototype for 18 months on my 12k zoysia. Here’s the actual mowers drum.
We also have 10 mowers in the market here in Atlanta and 2 of the users are full out landscapers. Again, no breaks. Truly vetting this to our fullest ability and feel very very confident in the build quality of this beast.

I am tester #10 of the Reel Rollers Revolution 26 and have been cutting with it for 3 weeks. I have been using a TruCut 25” for the past 3 years. The Rev26 is an amazing machine right out the box. Cuts amazing with one pass and doesn’t leave high spots and stripes amazing. I have a very hilly yard and it does climb like a billygoat. The reel to bedknife adjustment is so easy and backlapping is a 5 minute process. I cut without the use of the catcher and the mower hugs the ground and does not bounce. The rear drum does not leave ruts as did my TruCut. Lee has a winner with this machine!!

Tested the revolution today with Isaac at reel rollers. I’m currently using a John Deere 260b and had a Allett Kensington before that as my introduction to reel mowing. I say all that for context.
First of all if anyone is close, definitly contact RR to visit their place and check the machine out. It’s built like a tank but also I very sprightly in the way in handles compared to the 260. Throttle is responsive and with the handle control you can feather it as you like. Demo unit engages reel with the throttle, but production unit will have independent reel clutch control on the left side of the handle bar. Front roller on the demo wasn’t the exact one that will come on the production unit, but was still nice and robust. (Production roller is much heavier and grooved). Rear drum was what I was very interested in. I’ve never used anything but a smooth drum. It climbed the hill at the turf park very easily, and turned nicely. With the split design, No grass was damaged. All in all a fantastic machine, and I’m pretty confident in trading in the 260 for this machine and the fact that it will suit my needs perfectly. Looking forward to seeing more as we get closer.

I have an Allett Kensington 20H. How would you compare the Revolution 26 with it? I have a 2,200 front lawn I cut with it. Northern Illinois. 1" KBG. Thinking of selling the Kensington and opting for the Revolution.
