I have EGO products, so it makes sense to just lock into their mower.

I would only be using this on my rectangular backyard that is just under 5,000 sq ft. I have bermuda grass.

Curious what folks like and don't like.

Feel free to share your experience if you have other mowers as well.

Overall good. I have a fleet at this point....Ego, Toro Turf Master, Allet Kensington, and Swardman Electra. I prefer the Turfmaster and Kensington over the Ego.

For me, i used the Ego almost exclusively last year, and noticed my neighbors wouldn't come by and talk about how sharp the yard was. I wish the suction was better. I tired the highlift and the mulch conversion and didn't see that much of a difference. I had one of the battery's go out within a year of purchase, the customer service was top notch and sent me a new one.

What i like:
- Light weight
- All Ego battery's work
- Customer Service for replacement batteries.

What i don't like is:
- the grass sticks so much to the under carriage (tried ceramic coating it, didn't make a material difference)
- If you don't bag, the grass shoot is awkward. I have a bungie cord rigged to keep it open.
- The grass shoot get's clogged up quickly if your grass is 1% wet
- Some parts using take FOREVER to get. (from Ego and Partswarehouse)

I'd say for what it is 7/10.

I have both their zero turn and a 21" self propelled. I agree with above about the quality of cut especially at heights less than 2.5". I mulch all the clippings so cant comment on things getting clogged up. I get 2 cuts of 3000sq ft on a 7.5ah battery. Still on the original battery going on my 3rd season.

Rotary mowers can only go so low, usually around an inch at the lowest. Also, a rotary cuts with impact force which can rip the grass blades instead of cutting them. A reel mower cuts like scissors so it's a much cleaner cut and causes less damage to the turf even at super low HOCs.

Have an Ego 21" that's 5 or 6 years old now, but no longer use it for mowing. Loved it for cool season grass, light weight, easy height adjustment, low noise, no gas smell. But it just doesn't cut low enough for what I want from bermuda (lowest setting is 1.5" and goes up half inch increments from there) or have the sustained cutting speed or suction power when bermuda gets really thick). Keep it around since I use the bigger battery with some other Ego tools too, but the mower itself only gets used occasionally as a lawn vacuum (and, as mentioned about suction power, it isn't really great at that when the grass is so low cut).

I bought my 2101 lawn mower in April and used it a lot. Every was fine until we go a bunch of rain and it was hard not to cut the grass a little on the wet side. When I used the shoot spout it would not throw the grass clippings far enough. It caused the cut grass to end up in rows. Not a good look. It bags really well. And I love many things about my mower. Super quiet, easy to operate. Good for the environment and it as some cool features. No gas to fetch, no oil to change and when you clean the deck, it is light and you can maneuver for easy cleaning.

My problem is the shoot and I kind of figured out why. I am no engineer, but I was raised on the farm and know how things should go. The blade runs clockwise and so when the grass clippings get to the back of the mower, the shoot is directed to go to your right. It hangs up in the curve of the spout. The spout needs to go to your left. I can't believe I am the only one that has this issue. If anyone has any ideas to correct this, please let me know. Maybe if you only cut the grass when it is perfectly dry, it might be OK. Northern Minnesota weather doesn't let you off that easy.

jayCW - Glad I saw your post and someone else's about the mulch shoot spout. I just had my first electric mower - EGO 2130SP - delivered a few days ago. Yesterday I was so frustrated to find I couldn't get the mulch spout to insert completely at the top, no matter how I tried. Another person on this forum said they had to bungee cord the mulch spout on. I purchased and had it assembled and delivered from Lowe's. Mulching is what I wanted to do. Waiting for a call back from customer service.

I just bought my first battery mower last week, EGO 800 series. Despite my reservations, it's the best cut I ever had on my lawn.

Con: The HOC numbers on the side in no way coincide with a height measurement. I started a path on 3 and was committed to the whole yard at that point. I believe it equated to 2 inches. Oops for tall fescue. Luckily its rainy weather this week and will grow back.

I purchased a LM2206SP and, as I am 75 yrs old, had it delivered by True Value Hardware. It totally stopped working ("died") after 3 mos. Ego support was willing to replace it, but in the process, was not willing to have UPS pick it up. Totally unacceptable customer service response on a very expensive, brand new mower.
