Found some Pre M's on sale and want to prep for spring. I did a complete reno this last fall and already know I have some weeds putting on some pressure. I am located in NY and want to know if one pre M is better than the other or if both have a place in the rotation.

I began using Dimension before switching to Prodiamine. There are 2 reasons why I will never switch back:

1. Cost - Dimension was $30 for a 25lb bag + $58 shipping to Canada. Prodiamine was $58 + $53 shipping for 5lb but the app rates are much lower, meaning it will last me years and years. I believe I got approx. 6 apps out of my bag of Dimension (2 years worth of apps).

2. Ease of application - As I became more comfortable with spraying, I began to see the benefits over spreading. I get much better coverage with spraying vs. spreading granular.

Someone may say differently, but I don't see a need to rotate between the two products. You can't go wrong with either.

I use liquid Prodiamine as well. I mix in a little Princep/Simazine and Specticle. I'm still testing the Specticle since it is pretty expensive. Prodiamine and Simazine are very low cost compared to others and results have been pretty good. I still end up chasing the occasional breakthrough, but only in the areas where grass is not growing well to help block them out.

Most of my worst weed problem is coming out in my beds even with mulch. The weeds in TX are very powerful and push through mulch unless it is about 3-4 in thick.
