Can someone help me with best premergent to put down. I'm looking for something to come quick..maybe Amazon ..as I'd like to do it this weekend. I'm putting fertilizer along with the pre-emergent. Thanks a lot.

Good morning . So if you look at my last post you'll see in more detail my lawn issue. I was going to rip up the lawn but I guess I'm going to start to try and fix it.

Attached are some pics. A few questions.

1. Can I apply something for these weeds? What would be best
2. Should I apply something for the possible fungus issues or poa.annua?
3. Do I need to fertilize at this point?

Glad to see you opted not to rip up your lawn. Now it's on to dialing in your irrigation, and learning good cultural practices.

Do you have a sprayer by chance, and what kind/how large? A 4-gal backpack style one would make easy work of your weed-control tasks. Oh, and are you thinking of joining in the Fall Nitrogen Blitz? Not sure how much fill-in you'll get but the best defense (against weeds, etc) is a great offense by getting your existing turf to thrive.

This worked well for me last year and this year where about weed control and fine tuning watering even more.
My aggressive weed control left me with some bare spots

I used pre emergents and post emergent weed control .

Early spring soil temps 55’F lesco 19-0-7 with dimensions per instructions 3 month coverage
June I did a light feeding of 13-13-13 to get .25lbs N
I used Lesco Eliminate D to spray any current weeds and anything that gets by the pre emergent
Just follow the instructions on application amounts and timming.
For example that big crab grass looking weed in your picture , that should have been hit when it had like 2-5 leaf sets.
Yes you have to learn to look closely and earlier .
I then applied pre emergent to fight the fall germinating weeds.
Like dandelion for example
This is sone when soil temps start dropping

I applied a bit early because of time. Applied Prodamine at 4 month protection which gets me into November

Feeding
I am starting the blitz applying 40 lbs 20-0-0- every 2 weeks to 16,000 ft2

accept the trouble spots , take this time left this season to dial in watering and feeding
Mowing start planning next falls plan now.

research turf types that do well in your area, soil test, stock up on products.

Next year im only doing the spring pre emergent as im planning a 3500 ft reno and over seeding the rest with the top TTTF for draught and disease in my area… info from UMASS for that.

Best advice I have is slow down rushing and tossing everything at it just creates more problems.

Thanks and I haven't been watering a whole lot because I think it may encourage the fungus what is tzone?
figure out how much water you’re putting down and that it’s even.

Should I do a fertilizer now or in fall?
what are your temps?

If you have established grass, you can use "Crew" - a combination of dithiopyr (Dimension) and isoxaben (Gallery). This product doesn't last as long and tends to be a little more expensive, so many use prodiamine (Barricade), which can last into Spring. This allows for a slight overlap when you apply in Spring to prevent Summer weeds.

A new product with a new mode of action called "StriCore" is listed to be released in October. It looks to be a once-a-season thing and is an option to consider next year to vary the modes of action to reduce resistance issues—for example, Crew/Barricade in the Spring and StriCore in the Fall.

Yes, you can put down fertilizer and pre-emergent at the same time. Some fertilizer products have pre-M integrated into the granules for convenience.
You can find both Dimension and Barricade products (active ingredients) in local "big box" or "specialty" stores.
