New sod help in Texas

I laid new sod last Nov (7 pallets of St Augustine Palmetto in the backyard and 3 pallets of Zoysia Palisades in the front) and then we got hit with a freakish snow storm in February here in Texas (zone 8b). I lost a bunch of landscaping (shrubs, etc) but it looks like the sod is in better shape than I expected. I have done nothing since the sod was laid except keep water on it. Can I get some guidance from the smart folks here on fertilizer and any other treatments I should put on the yard?

I don't know a lot about fertilizing St Augustine but I have Palisades in my back yard and I love it. Like St. Aug, spray a few preventative fungicide treatments (azoxystrobin/propiconizole) probably here in the next month and a half or so. You'll be glad you did. Unlike St. Aug, keep your Palisades short, no longer than 2 inches. I kept mine tall the first season before I knew any better and had a ton of thatch the following spring. And when fertilizing, don't go crazy on the nitrogen, zoysia just doesn't need that much. I apply 1/3-1/2 lb N per 1K, about half of what I feed my bermuda. Make sure you're feeding it potassium too, it's right behind nitrogen in order of importance. So look for a balanced fert, like a 15-5-10.
That's my 2 cents...

@TX_grass_newbie The below documents from Texas A&M will give you a good start since you have Texas warm season grasses. The recommendation from Texas A&M Turf is not to use pre-emergent on newly sodded St. Augustine after the freezes. These documents should help you better understand a calendar and timeline for applications. Since you have a new yard I would also do a soil test.

I would do nothing. Let nature take it's course and to me the last pic looks like weeds so you may need a post emergent in a minute
^ This, 100%
^ This, 75%. I'd remove the leaves and litter, and apply a pre-emergent and some fertilizer and water in really well.

Get all of the leaves and dead grass out of the st aug in the back and it will fill in over the summer. The leaf drop from the live oaks this year made a big mess. I had to rake mine a few times with a metal tine rake to pull up the dead parts from the freeze and bag them up.

I have a small plot of st aug under my live oaks and use a slow release fert on it twice a year. Around 1-1.5lbs of nitrogen per 1000sq/ft. The key for it in the hot dry South Central Tx climate it plenty of water all year long.

Got me on a technicality...😂

So, since I posted those pics, I have done some serious raking to get rid of all of the damn oak leaves. Any thoughts on the Simple Lawn Solutions? Specifically their 16-4-8? While there are some weeds in the St Augustine, I definitely have more of a problem in the Zoysia (front yard). Any specifics on what I should put down to deal with the weeds that are there now? Is a pre-emergent the thing to put down now?

Since you are late I would just go to Lowes or HD and buy something like this:

https://www.lowes.com/pd/Sta-Green-10-lb-Pre-Emergent-Crabgrass-Control/1000140073
https://www.lowes.com/pd/Scotts-10-lb-Crabgrass-Control/50083006
https://www.homedepot.com/p/Vigoro-17-lb-5-000-sq-ft-Spring-and-Fall-Crabgrass-and-Weed-Preventer-22524-1/203088932

Follow the label!!

THe active ingredient Dithyiopr is slighly better if you are late to the ballgame. Prodiamine will work as well. Like @mjh648 said you are late getting it down so buy it quickly and water it in about 1/2 inch before your pet goes back in the yard. With your size yard I would apply 1 bag now and 1 bag in 60 days. That will get you to the fall application.
