Long time lurker but thought i would throw this out there… Has anyone else recently purchased a My4Sons Backpack sprayer since they started offering their custom optjons that can be used with whichever battery you choose? I have a lot of dewalt 20Vs so i went witn that about 6 months ago and its been the definition of a nightmare and really wishing that i bought a FlowZone at this point.

Let me say, however, that the company has done everything imaginable to fix all the issues I’ve had, they’ve sent countless attachments and new hoses, new wands, new brass gun and finally sent me something entirely different, which was a 1/4th inch NPT hose assembly, which finally solved all the leaking issues I was encountering. I’m talking the dreaded blue lawn dye and harsh chemicals unloading on my face and covered in it from head to toe. Now, after all the leaks have been finally resolved, I was using it last night to perfection and out of nowhere the motor started to make a sound I hadn’t heard before and I lost all pressure. After trying some trouble shooting, I finally shut it down bc I could literally smell the motor burning. I’m just curious if anyone else has experienced this? I’m wondering if the battery was over working the pump somehow? I did a shit ton of research before I bought from my4sons and I’m all about supporting small businesses and they haven’t let me down in terms of customer service but I’m really beginning to wonder if opting for a custom battery instead of their tried and true option is the culprit here, anyone?

I have the the normal lead acid battery version and have not had a single issue with it in over 6 years of use. No other backpack sprayer has the options or upgrade parts that that this brand does. I'm curious if the part that steps down the voltage to 12volts might be your issue? Maybe get with them to do a voltage or amperage test to make sure. I hope you can get this resolved and enjoy using this this sprayer as I have for years to come.

Thanks for the reply fellas… Turns out that the motor prematurely burned out on me. Lance, from my 4 sons, has been extremely accommodating throughout this entire ordeal. So much so, that he just refunded me for the entire amount that i paid, which also included the add on agitator pump. He also just mailed me a new motor and simply asked that I keep him posted with any feedback if I have any other issues so they can document and try to learn from the situation. Looks like I just had an unlucky sequence of events because until this, I’ve never really seen anyone post about issues like I was encountering. What was most cool of Lance was that he didn’t beat me up over no longer having my receipt. It was in the original box, which ended up being a safe spot for all the leaking hoses and it was ruined. The email I used is the same email I’ve used for orders since around 1998 and have never deleted an email, 😂. I can no longer access it without spending many hours on end to delete old emails so I can start to get new ones again, since it’s totally maxed out. He very easily could have been a stickler and pulled a technicality on me, like many big box stores probably would have. While I do intend on purchasing another sprayer, most likely a flowzone or similar flow zone knock off, I have nothing but positive feedback when it comes to my4sons and their level of customer service - Top Notch all around
