I used Blindside at about the same time on my st. aug lawn and ended up with bare spots exactly like yours but in my case, it was mostly patches of weeds that were in those areas. Someone here suggested black cow/mason sand mix in those areas and the SA is already filling back in nicely.

 

How much did you apply to those areas? Just enough to lightly wet the leaves or did you drench the areas?

 

I think I may have drenched it slightly now that you ask.. it kept dripping down from the wild onion so I wanted to soak the onions.

 

It looks like you sprayed angry. When you spot spray, you have to walk the yard as if you are doing a blanket application and just squeeze the trigger when you see weeds. If you wave the wand over the weeds to wet them down you will 100% overapply. MSM is a fantastic product but has to be mixed and applied properly or you will kill your turf at best or kill your trees at worst. I never recommend it to anyone because of what has happened to you but it has been very effective against spurge and VBW in both my Empire Zoysia and my Bermuda with zero impact on my desired turf.

 

Yea, I think I may have over applied it. I wanted to drench the onions and I probably soaked the grass underneath too. Will the zoysia eventually recover?

 

That's a great video. I can tell you that at .5oz/Acre you are counting granules when mixing per gallon. The last 2 minutes of that video say it all!
