Would appreciate some suggestions/tips/tricks in treating lawns for moles using carbon monoxide gas. I am using professional Burrow-RX Sprayer, also covering seep holes as gas "smoke tracer" is applied; but moles are back in about 7-10 days. What am I doing wrong? Would really appreciate some helpful tips.
Does the time of day the application is made make a difference?
What about the weather conditions (rain/dry - hot/cold)?
Placement of hose tip?
Timing of gas nozzle application -- 10-15 minutes, etc.???
Is re-spray needed within certain period of time?
Any suggestions are appreciated, as these critters are tearing up my landscaping (I have several acres).

Been there, done that, no luck. Their tunnels are extensive with many offshoots and the CO2 wont get to all the areas. I have had 100% eradication through death using the Gopher Hawk (Amazon) with a dab of peanut butter bait.

Appreciate the trap recommendations; however, I have tried several different steel traps that failed to kill moles. Handled traps with gloves (no human scent), rubbed with surrounding soil to acclimate, placed over active runs. Still no success. I have been battling moles for several years, and they just get worse! Initially tried Moth Balls, then Castor Oil spray, several types of Solar Powered traps, different steel traps, even Human Hair stuffed in the holes! Finally "bit the bullet" and purchased a professional carbon monoxide gas machine. It seemed to work initially, but then the moles are back within 7-10 days. I am asking for any helpful suggestions in proper use of this gas machine. Thank you.

Wear a good respirator if you have one and pour bleach and ammonia in the tunnels. You will make chlorine gas, hydrochloric acid, hydrazine, and few other nasty things.

Here a guide for gophers, but same principle

I tried various methods to rid my yard of Moles last year and earlier this year, and then this year I found a trap that caught the Moles. I first tried Juicy Fruit Gum, when that didn't work I tried Poison Pellets...when that didn't work I borrowed a Plunger Style Trap from a friend, and when that trap didn't catch anything, I bought the GopherHawk Trap. I tried that for several weeks and when that didn't catch anything earlier this year, I found the trap that caught the Mole within 2 days. The Scissor Trap is what worked for me.

I cannot attach links to show you evidently, but go to you tube videos and type in "Scissor Mole Trap" and watch a couple of them.

Hope this helps, and Please let us know!

It is definitely mole season for me now. Just caught one this morning with a scissor trap. I find the scissor traps sometimes hard to set.

Hoping to catch another today.

Not a fan of mixing ammonia and bleach. Risk for me is too high.

Been battling them for years. Tried every non lethal solution. I put 5 of the solar powered sound machines out there, and the bastards tunneled around them like they were training cones or something.

I even tried to make an underground fence by driving 6” plastic stakes all along my fence at 3” intervals. They went right between them.

Finally said enough is enough when they started destroying my newly renovated backyard last month. Bought the poison fake worms and put 5 in various spots in their tunnels. Haven’t seen a new tunnel since. Hope it stays that way.

Not sure what you are dealing with but I started spraying and killing their food source and that has kept them at bay. I notice that a mole or two might come a foot into my yard then leave. The only thing for me that was worked 100 percent is a high powere pellet gun. I shoot them while they are tunneling and just leave them in the yard. I’m hoping it’s a warning to the next guy that shows up.
