Here's my review of the 1000H I bought for my 5,000 ft² St. Augustine lawn. TLDR: It has potential but it needs massive improvements to be a functional and practical mower.
1. I bought the 1000H since it claims to be able to mow 3/4 of an acre (~33,000 ft²). This is a complete pipe dream. The battery in the 1000 series is much smaller than the other models, and mowing my lawn with a cross hatch pattern would take almost all day and around 14 trips back to the charging station to complete the task. If you are considering a Luba 2, get the 3000 series at a minimum.
2. A simple back and forth pattern left a lot of missed spots and looked terrible. There should be slight overlap between passes so coverage is complete.
3. The mower gets confused easily. Several times, the mower would do a fraction of a zone, declare the job done, and return to the dock.
4. When recharging, there's no control over how much battery is needed before departing the dock and resuming work.
5. The robot would often get confused or stuck navigating to and from different zones. Eventually, the battery would die and I'd have to pick the robot up and carry it to the dock. That got old fast.
6. The software is bad. Many times, the robot would have good charge, but the system would stop work due to perceived insufficient battery.
7. The navigation and positioning software need massive improvements. If the robot skidded off its planned course, it would very aggressively attempt to correct back. This wastes a lot of time and battery.
8. No mulching.
I really wanted this robot to work, but it simply doesn't. I sent it back yesterday. Maybe the Luba 3 will be better.
