You should keep the HOC short going into the end of the season. I have a mix of TTTF and KBG. My last cut is typically about 2.5" and in the spring start out there in the early spring, before gradually raising it up to 4" for the summer.

 

I often raise it a notch in July.

You're welcome. I use a rotary mower, so I keep mine longer. Taller grass in the winter that gets matted down can lead to snow mold. If you raise the HOC, be prepared to mow more often so it doesn't get too overgrown in the summer.

 

2.5 to 3 is good for spring and fall. 2.5 for winter amd 3 minimum for summer.

 

I would absolutely smoke my TTTF at 2.5" or lower.

 

I think that it's not quite as defined as we want it to be. I've been continuously lowering my height of cut even through a heatwave we just had in my area. I think what height of cut you want is totally up to you, it just depends on what you want to maintain. Of course within reason

 

Healthy tttf is no issue in cooler spring and fall weather at 2.5. Summer is a different story
