If you all need anything, reach out! I have a Stihl Farm Boss and a generator. I have family down there so I will travel.
You had me at Stihl Farm Boss!!! Appreciate the offer but we are pretty much out of the path. I did however, make a 10:10 tee time for Thursday if anyone is interested.

@Katodude you're starting to worry me dude with all of the spinups you guys had down there. I have a great friend in Ft. Pierce so I was watching that county and Palm Beach where you are. Hopefully you're just without internet at the moment and all is good. If not, send me a dm if I can do anything for ya.

All good here. Never lost power. The scary ones were in Wellington where I know a few people. We got gusts of I think 70mph. The yard was a mess, but got most of it cleaned up yesterday. I am actually going to go out and play golf today.

Got a mow in yesterday finally. Also sprayed the ficus hedge this morning with Forbid. 1oz per 25 gallons. Did not see much whitefly but figured I would nip it in the bud. Also not supposed to rain today so good day to spray.

Might also do some spotspraying of the spurge today.

Got a mow in yesterday. Front and back.

Sprayed PGR .3 oz, Clearys 3336 2oz, Bifen 1oz, N .15lb

Going to throw some more fertilizer at it later this week. See if I can get it to pop.

Also due for Imidachloprid and Prodiamine application. Will try to get that in this week.

.4oz of Prodiamine and 1oz of Imidachloprid put out this morning. Getting some light rain now, but will water tomorrow morning anyway.

That last application I did resulted in some tip burn. First time I have ever experienced that. Also the first time I have every used Clearys dont know if that is the culprit since I did spray 4 things at the same time.

Will mow tomorrow and then hit it will a heavy dose of granular N.

Fertilizer can be used as a binding agent in a similar way we use a NIS or MSO. Would have to assume the addition of the fungicide increased the activity of your fert in the plant. I haven't looked into the actual "tissue action" of 3336F even though it's one I have as I so infrequently use fungicides.

That is an interesting fact. Will put that one in the memory bank. It’s the first time I have ever had any sort of tip burn or bronzing. Well I threw out a little over .5 lbs on N last night and watering that in now. Going to mow this afternoon and see what happens.

So still a little disappointed with how my spot of challenge is progressing. I guess I am just going to keep pulling shovel sized plugs from my sod farm and not just hit the bare spots but some of the weak spots as well. Still have sod in the sod farm, and the older plugs are starting to fill in.

I am fighting not a lot of sunlight along with roots from the ficus hedge. Cut and pulled out another big root today. I will dissolve some urea in a bucket and dump it on the area tomorrow.

Spot sprayed some crabgrass and spurge with a mixture of MSM, Dismiss, and DriveXl8.

Due for another PGR application. Might add some Azoxy to that.

Applied PGR. It was late but I think I just beat the rebound. Also put some Eagle20 in the back where I think I have had fungus issues.

Got a quick mow in on the front. There are a few stressed spots where I got a little over aggressive with the spot spraying. But hey, it’s Bermuda.

I came to an interesting realization a few days ago when my pest control guy came to spray my hedges. He said, ”boy you have been really fertilizing those a lot”. Well I had not been. Turns out the extra N I kept putting down also got used by my hedges. Which makes me think that not all of the N that I put down was available to the grass. I may have to get more aggressive with my N applications next year.

Unless you're seeing weak spots around those hedges it may be the contrary and you are already fertilizing so much that the grass can't uptake anymore and the hedges are able to get to some of it as well.
Thats an interesting concept. I may have to experiment with that a little. I have some spots where the hedge and grass are a little weak. Let’s see what extra N will do.

This is probably a bad time of year to get any real results as there is a lot of shade on the grass need the hedge. But come March I am going to have some fun. Now that I found N at $18 a bag there is no limit to how much I willing to throw at it.

I think @Redtwin is picking up on what I'm suggesting. We all know or at least believe ( I think) grass can only uptake so much Nitrogen at one time, so any left behind would be leftover for something else to use.

Studies are starting to show that even fast acting Nitrogen stays around for longer than initially thought.

If I had a smaller property like yours I would probably do small weekly or biweekly Nitrogen doses along with frequent Iron applications for color. Our grasses seem to be able to uptake a lot more iron than I think many realize. The health benefits are definitely debatable, but the color pop and the fact it's Bermuda and you can't kill it would make it feasible.

Actually I may have misspoke. I dont have a problem with the hedges getting some extra N. These are ficus hedges and I do have a constant battle with whitefly. One of my weapons is faster growth.

I was just wondering when I put down granular N and water it in who gets most of the N near the hedge. The hedge or the grass?

I like the idea of foliar apps but it’s just too much work. I dont mind adding N when spraying something else (like PGR). But with my Ryobi hand held spreader I can spread granular in about 10 min including clean up. That time saving is just hard to beat. If I have to increase the dosage then, ok thats cheap enough to do.

It also turn out the grass can absorb way more N. I have one spot that we think is LDS. I took a 5 gallon bucket put in half a solo cup of urea and then dumped it on the area. The parts that had grass got very dark green about two weeks later. I just dumped some more of that mix on a few other areas that were not struggling and want to see the response.

Well it’s the first day of winter and I applied PGR. This is the latest PGR application that I have ever done. Should be interesting.

Anyway .3oz PGR, 1oz Bifen, and .2 lbs N foliar.

That's growth regulator? Still growing well down south then? I just took off barely an half inch after a month, up here in the panhandle. It should go full dormant soon.

Yeah, I actually was late and got a little bit of rebound. Might have to do another mow this week.

Having a cold snap right now, only getting about 6 GDD per day. This application should last a while. Needed to get Bifen down anyway since I was a little late on that too.

I actually envy you guys with some dormancy a little bit. Would like to have a few months off from dealing with the grass.
