Yeah, I actually was late and got a little bit of rebound. Might have to do another mow this week.

Having a cold snap right now, only getting about 6 GDD per day. This application should last a while. Needed to get Bifen down anyway since I was a little late on that too.

I actually envy you guys with some dormancy a little bit. Would like to have a few months off from dealing with the grass.
I was just thinking in my head..."Man, I can't imagine not getting a few months off each year, how would I ever get everything else done"

There was a guy in the neighborhood grinding a stump that my neighbor had. So a quick $250 and he did a few that I had lying around. Need to smooth that spot out, and in a month or so I will start putting in some sod patches to grow it in.

Nice. I had someone come by to look at my stumps but the machine was too big to get in back and I didn't want to take down a fence. I need to find someone with the smaller machine.

Time to start getting serious again. Spot of challenge is looking better. Still some weak spots that I will put some big plugs into. The 5 gallon bucket method of fertilizing is working well. Just applied granular to the whole lawn and watering it in. Grass needs a mow.

Did a full mow, and used the grass catcher which I dont normally do. But still had a lot of leaves from the oak tree and it managed to pick up at least about half, so it looks a little better. I am waaaay overdue for Prodiamine and Imidachloprid which hopefully I can do this week.

.4oz Prodiamine 1oz Bifen, 1oz Imidachloprid

Watered it all in. Discovered I had a stuck solenoid so one part got very watered in.

Anyway fixed the solenoid. Going to try to go to SiteOne today to buy some more urea and speedzone southern. Got some winter broadleaf weeds that need a whacking.

Spot sprayed the winter broadleaf weeds with Speedzone, and then hit a bunch of kyllinga with Sulfentrazone.

Need to fertilize and water tomorrow and mow on Monday.

Round 2 of spot spraying those winter weeds. This time just mixed in the sulfentrazone into the speedzone. Made it quicker. Also made quick work of pretty much every weed.

First PGR app of the year.

.25oz TNEX and 1oz Bifen. Also did 2oz of Main Event in the front yard. Let’s see what kind of response I get from that.

Applied .6lbs of N and watered it in. I think I am getting a response from the PGR and iron. No more N except for the bucket applications until I get back from my trip.

.38oz of PGR and 1oz of Bifen.

Applied the PGR early, but going on vacation tomorrow and I dont mind a little lockdown.

No that is a pile of topsoil from a failed tomato growing experiment. I have been slowly spreading it around to some weak spots and trying to flatten it out before I plug it and grow the grass back.

Got 3” of rain yesterday. So applied .38oz of TNex and .15lb of N. Saw lots of moths. Going to do an Acelepryn application soon. Probably also due for imidichloprid.

Looked at the beginning of my journal. Here is what I call the spot challenge from about 2 years ago. This is what some patience, big plugs, lots of N can do.

I am going to go take a picture from this angle.

8ml of Acelepryn which is the medium grub rate, 28ml of Pennant Magnum (the full yearly rate)
.3lb of N and .3lb of K used that 12-0-12 I bought.

Watering it now with .25”

I will see the response I get and see if I have a K deficiency.
