No clasping auricles, not annual ryegrass. To me looks to be either orchardgrass or poa trivialis with the tall ligule, suspect poa triv.

I don't believe that orchard grass has purple stems. Mine looked like that and I was told it was triv. Either way, paint it with gly.

 

Poa T has panicle seed head. Also looks like ligules in the 1st pic - Poa t does not have ligules.

Perhaps @g-man or others can chime in. I am only 80% or so certain it is Orchardgrass. Assuming it is U would have to use something like glyphosate.

I'm not 100% sure. It looks like what Maryland calls orchardgrass.

Could well be. Do U see a clasping auricle. Since quack grass is allelopathic, U are likely to see it crowding out other grasses.

How does this crap pop out of nowhere? I did an over seed this past fall and it looked beautiful, come spring and this junk is everywhere. I purchased my seed from the Super Seed store so I wouldn't think it came from there. I guess it's just a reason for a complete renovation this fall.

Thanks G-man. I wish I could but I have to much of it. I think I'm going to stop core aeration for awhile and go strictly Air-8. Seems like every time I do I have another problem the next year.
