Mowed the front yard.

Fertilized the backyard and the struggling parts of the front yard.

RB60 let me down (sort of) this time. I fertilized heavier than normal and ended up with a dark green streak around the edge of the front yard. After getting back from the airport, it was very noticeable so went ahead and started mowing the front yard even though it’s only been 3 days.

I guess I’m going to have to hug the edge a lot closer in the future and really rely on the blower to push the extra fert back in the yard.

One of my biggest complaints about the RB60 is when the edgeguard falls down. It will do the same because it's throwing out the same amount. The RB60 is lightyears better than any of the Scotts spreaders but not nearly as good as a decent Earthway or Lesco.

I use a Brinley Hardy spreader and noticed a darker path along my perimeter as well. I read that the type of "edge guard" I have does a decent job keeping it off the perimeter but pushes more fertilizer in a smaller area. One way I'm trying to get around this is lowering the settings on my spreader when going round the perimeter. I put fertilizer down last night so we'll see how well this works out.

I think this will help; I haven't noticed this kind of prominent perimeter stripe at lower rates. I usually target a lower rate of N and I let it get away from me this time.

Finally rained today. Got out in the yard afterwards and sprayed a mixture of GreeneEffect (7-0-0) and Azoxystrobin around the dark green stripe perimeter. Trying to even things out a little.

Edged and mowed the front yard at 3.75”

Pre-wet the front grass (3500 sqft) and then sprayed:

32 floz Hydretain
0.8 floz Cyzmic
11 tsp spreader sticker

Watered it all in for 20 minutes.

Mowed the side yard at 3.75“.

Sprayed side yard 2.2k with:

20 floz Hydretain
0.50 floz Cyzmic
0.6 floz Acelepryn (spittlebug rate, also gives chinch suppression)
4 tsp spreader/sticker

Watered in for 20 minutes

Front yard color is improving. I’m hoping for peak color on July 4.

Etho + Atrazine + COC worked for me, but I’m planning on trying the Recognition product with the hope that it will be even better.

2.7 floz Azoxystrobin
7 floz Propiconazole
2.3 floz Tekko
1.75 floz ExciteR
0.8 floz Cyzmic
49 grams Isoxaben (Gallery)

Observed brown patch while spraying. Unbelievable. F’n Palmetto St Aug. 😡

Mowed the front and side yards at 3.75”. It was very overgrown and fungus is raging. I don’t want to have a Palmetto lawn ever again.
