Forgot to mention, Ive also checked the oil level (added some) and checked the fuel line. I am getting fuel to the carburetor bowl based on it being full of gas when I drained it to remove.

 

I was going to say it could be the oil shut off sensor. You could take the air filter off and see if it runs. Another thing may be the fuel filter may be too clogged to keep it running

 

If its running on starter fluid its getting spark.
Generally a fuel problem wont cause and abrupt stall and no start.
Pull the carb and give it a look. If you can remove a carb , do all the checks you have done you can clean a carb.
How old is the mower.

 

Thanks. Yea, I pulled the carb off yesterday, removed the float, and jet. Sprayed all that out with carb cleaner and re assembled. Didnt change a thing.
Also tried adding some seafoam to the gas tank (newer gas, same gas Im running in a gx160 on a reel mower without issue).
New carb ETA tomorrow. They're so cheap, I figured just try a whole new one.
Mower is a 2017.

 

Turns out it was a carb issue. New one and it fired right up. Wife said it must be such a good feeling to fix a motor and make it run again. It is, sweetheart. It sure is!

 

surprised to see 2 carbs replaced within 1 year. I assume you’re putting the cheap aftermarket ones on, which may be let off the problem. And 2nd issue may be the fuel. Are you using ethanol-free gas? If not, you should.

 

Good call out. Now that I know what my issue was, I am going to order a Honda genuine part. This is the 2nd el cheapo Amazon carb. Also, running regular gas in everything. Maybe that needs to change.

 

I’ve been tempted to buy those $25 carbs as well but have been warned against it. I’m not really sure what makes them inferior though. I’m assuming the tolerances aren’t as exact?? Not really sure. As for the gas, I’ve learned firsthand how important it is to not use ethanol mixes in small engines, and if at all possible to run the fuel out of the carb after each use .. or at least ahead of any periods of non-use.

 

My commercial honda's that I have had for over 14 years and still running. Dont forget there is a filter in the fuel supply hose.
