Hose bib irrigation

Putting a plan together to do a hose bib irrigation system. Idea is to run a hose bib timer with blu lock pipe buried to two zones. This will have to be on both sides of the front yard on two separate timers on two separate hose bibs, so 4 zones. Will have to run 3/4 inch pipe to some of the heads to avoid pressure loss and looking at running 0.5gpm rotors on large side of lawn and mp rotators on the opposite side that is much narrower.. Wondering if anyone has done this or has any tips that I could possibly over looking. Testing static psi on Tuesday when pressure guage arrives.

Edit. This will be about 4500sq ft in total

wait, so you’re burying the pipe? And the pop-up heads as well?? Why not just bury a manifold and call it a day? Or in this case, a complete underground irrigation system! 😝 😝

im sure you have your reasons and you have my attention. What gives? Do tell.
+1 @corneliani Is it you don’t have access to water other than hose bibs? Even so, but a cheap controller and tie in bibs and you can provide better control. Tie into bib and use valves in the ground with valves tying back to controller.
City ordinances.

Edit: I should have expanded on this. City is currently running out of water. Lots of eyes on people with inground systems. Check valves checked yearly (fee) only allowed to water during certain hours which are terrible hours to promote disease. Watched like a hawk by the city. Building permits (fee). Lots of small reasons just to keep eyes off of me.

@Supergrass This may not be new information to you, but just putting it out there. Some municipalities do not allow hose bib irrigation systems. In most places hose bib vacuum breakers are not code compliant in regard to backflow prevention. More often than not in ground irrigation systems require an RPZ or a PVB type backflow device.

Where do you live in the Ukraine or what? No water available LOL that is silly. This small planet called Earth is covered by 3/4 of water.

That is all a scam. They put that out so people will not waste water and use the least possible. Cities have to PAY to treat said water. Irrigation water doesn't even travel back to them to clean and repump. It's all about maximizing profits and doing the least amount of work, laying off the most amount of people killing retirements and benefits.

Aquifer that is pumped from is getting low and the section we are in is not being replenished due to limestone blocking replenishment. City says 30 years it will be empty. Currently in process of negotiating water from Chicago to be pumped out 50 miles to my town.

I did this for a family member a couple of years ago. She did not want to spend the several thousand dollars to have an irrigation installed so I just ran some poly pipe underground connected to four heads with MP Rotator nozzles and it was all connected to an Orbit timer (single zone). I personally prefer the Melnor timers but the Orbit ones are easier to use. IIRC, the total cost of the supplies was around $200. It has worked flawlessly over the past 2 years.

And make sure you have an anti-siphon valve/vacuum breaker installed on your hose bib. You do not want to be siphoning fertilizers/pesticides back into your home's water supply. If your hose bib did not come with one installed from the manufacturer (uses a different thread pitch), you can buy one that threads onto a standard 3/4" garden hose thread. Do not buy the cheap ones because the valves inside are made out of plastic and they are obnoxiously noisy. This is the one I bought - https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B08CJC3CY4
