I purchased a Toro Super Recycler 4 years ago. It was underwhelming to say the least - sputtering, grass trails, etc. Two weekends ago, the engine really started slowing down. 5 year warranty but only 3 on the engine, so that’s that.

I believe in speaking with your wallet, so I wasn’t getting another Toro. Got barely used Honda HRX w/ blade stop. First cut and wow what a difference. Superior in every way. So smooth and powerful and a great cut. It’s a bit heavier so as long as I’m not lifting it solo, it’ll be great.

Best news is that it was only $300.

I have had mine several years now , been mowing 15k ft2 for at least 3 now, rifer crapped out and cant afford to buy another and a good deal on a used rider has yet to cross my path.
Keep it clean , fresh gas .
It will treat you well
I have TTTF and found 3/4” over HOC is the sweet spot for good mulch mowing
Makes for a bit more frequent mowing .
only quip I have is the mulch/bag selector rotted off in the chute.

I really like my HRX. Not using it as much these days since getting a reel mower. With so many of those HRX’s out there, I don’t think parts availability will be that big a worry. But you may have to resort to other sources, like eBay, or a donor machine.

I'm pretty satisfied with my HYA that I got at HD back in March. Before buying I asked a dealer about parts after they pull out and was told "we will be able to get what ever you need to keep it going for a long time". They said they are selling the mowers everywhere else in the world and the parts aren't going anywhere any time soon.
