After discovering grub damage in tttf lawn and the grass peels up like carpet can you seed through that layer of “carpet” or does all that need to be pulled up & total soil exposed? What is correct way to reseed the damaged areas?

Have you taken care of the grub problem?
Thing with grub damage is the area thats dead and brown just needs to be raked or garden weaseled and sow new seeds.
Im sure I will be corrected but think of the cycle of “grubs”
What did the most damage was the grubs laid 2022 that fed all spring into early summer to hatch mid summer and lay more eggs. The “new” grubs 2023 dont eat much now but next year will be back to repeat the cycle if you dont do anything.
From what I have learned
Dylox is a contact killer and will kill many many bugs in your lawn on contact.
Something like GrubEx is
Chlorantraniliprole which gets into the grass/roots and when the newly hatched grubs come spring 2024 start eating start dying.
I did a 24 hr grub killer yes and watered in the lawn. I wasn’t sure on the grass that peeled up like a mat/carpet how I needed to get seed to soil contact and if new seedlings would even grow/push through the mat. If i rented a slice/slit seeder if that would do the job or what?
Introduction There seems to be a lot of interest here on the forums for an overseed guide so I'm going to give it my best shot. Keep in mind, this is primarily for TTTF or PRG lawns. Some of these ideas will work with KBG but that's a totally different animal so someone with more KBG experience...
I didn’t no. Just the 24 hr killer for now. Are you talking preventer now or next spring/early summer? Grubs are all new to me and will have to get a program going.
