Hello all!
Was just speaking with the office of Graham Turf Seeds Ltd out of Peterborough and explain that my lawn is a mixture of KBG, perennial, and fescues so I have noticed different shades of green throughout my lawn. My goal is to go 100% KBG without having to do an entire re do of my lawn. I have a dog and a kid so it would be impossible to start from scratch on my entire property so I mentioned this to the fella an he said that after a couple years of over seeding this KBG called Fielder which by the read up is a cross of America and Shamrock KBG that my lawn will be looking excellent. He also said that it has a fast germination time and that I should over seed the beginning of August and not the labour day weekend target date for up here in Ontario.
Wasn't sure if anyone has any input on if they have used this seed before or if it's a good idea to aerate and over seed the first week of August compared to the first Week of September that I normally see reading this forum as well as if the KBG would eventually take over in a couple years of over seeding say fall and spring for the next couple years while aerating! Any input would be greatly appreciated, thanks lawn family!

As well this is the link to the cultivar seed suggested for me to use.

I don't think this is possible. You can't selectively kill one grass type and not the others.

The recommendations don't seem great to me. Shamrock kbg is not a great one.

The first week of Aug might be ok, but always check the forecast. I think seed down in the first 3 weeks of Aug is ideal around here for kbg.

As @g-man says, it will not be possible to get a 100% kbg yard from overseeing, and in fact overseeing with kbg is not without its challenges.

You mention kids and dog preventing a proper Reno? How is this an issue and how does the overseeding resolve this issue?

Okay thanks Gman, glad theirs some input on and assistance for me. The other option is I just continue to overseed in fall with my 50/50 KBG / perennial rye grass which I did the front lawn Reno with last spring with some success just not sure what type of KBG it is. It's the Quicksun bag from peavey mart. Cannot find the company to contact.
