Looks like that might just be Bermuda, hard to tell though..

 

Leaves look suspiciously like Zoysia. Hint: Zoysia is severely damaged by Prograss(Ethofumesate) and Tenacity(Mesotrione).

+1 looks like zoysia mixed in there.

 

Here are a few more pictures. The bothersome "grass" has very short prickly blades and the St. Augustine has of course, long stout blades. If this turns out to be Zoysia invading the St. Augustine grass, what would be the best plan of action? I was hoping the summer heat would allow the St. Augustine grass to overtake it, but that doesn't appear to be happening. Thanks.

So it looks like you're right, it may be NImblewill. Considering my lawn is St. Augustine, what is the solution for dummies?

 

It appears Tenacity needs 2 applications 3 weeks apart per the manufacturer. Also Tenacity is very expensive. I might be better off just having a lawn service apply the 2 treatments.

Edit: Note that tenacity will turn your st aug white for a while.

 

Cool, I'll look into that! Other than buying the tenacity, looks like I'll need to get a large sprayer (of some sort) and a surfactant? I think that's all.

 

How big is the infested area? My thought is it may be cheaper and easier to kill and sod.

 

Maybe 15x60 area or so.

 

900sqft looks like tenacity might be your best/cheapest option.
