Generally if you are buying a premixed bag of seed with multiple cultivars/varieties, the supplier will have chosen varieties that blend well together esthetically. Im not very familiar with all those varieties, but Mazama and Midnight both have a dark green color, so my guess would be all of the varieties blended with it will be of a similar color. Perhaps the most notable differences in the 3 options would be how each of them did in different conditions...fungus, shade, drought, etc.

I like option #1 only because I know 3 of 4 and only read good things. I didn't know star so looked it up would work good in Michigan early spring green up and holds color in the winter . But I'm far from a pro seed picker

 

Option1 (total eclipse) is what I want when I full reno my side yard. (But it might not be "the darkest green")

 

Have you discovered a different mix which is darker?

 

I would find a nice balance between color and it's resistance to fungus you will be happier in the end.

 

I went with Option 1.

 

Did you go seed down yet?

 

I'm about to seed on Monday. I went with total Eclipse from Twin City Seed.
