Hey everyone. It's been 9 days now since I sowed my front yard with TTTF. As I noticed Saturday that I some new grass sprouting, I woke this morning to a light frost! Darn MI, and it's drunk Mother Nature!

Am I guaranteed to lose those small grass that sprouted? Will front do anything to the non-sprouted seeds? The weather hasn't been the greatest for grass. Had a few 60ÂşF days last week as well as a couple 40Âş-ish days.

Thought I was out of the frosty days.

Anything I can put down that helps against frost? Today and tonight are cold, but by this weekend, we are back in 70Âş range.

Awesome, glad to hear. I was just about irritated with this issue.

I leveled and seeded because lawn looked horrible. Finally got seedlings and boom... Frost!

We ended up at like 36 degrees and 2" of snow so hopefully that doesn't do more damage. Low tonight is 33 and tomorrow is a bit warmer.

if you're worried, you can always do a light watering during the night to prevent frost. Old gardening trick and it absolutely works. Seems counter to what you might think, but water from a well or city is 50-60 degrees and spring and fall frosts can be prevented with one, maybe two, quick watering. I just set mine to go off for a couple of minutes based on hourly temp forecast. If 4am shows 35ish, I set it half hour before that.
