Hi all, chemical sprayer newbie here. I feel like I've missed this when reading the Bermuda Triangle but cannot seem to find it. My yard is just about 5k sq ft. And I have a 4 gallon sprayer. How do I calculate how many gallons I would need to cover my entire yard?

Sorry for such the newbie question but for the life of me I cannot seem to find the answer

EDIT: I am trying to spray Celsius and Prodamine

The gallons aren't as important as the amount of active ingredients that you're mixing in with them. You can do all 5k of your yard with 4 gallons, figure in .8 gal / 1k and add in your chems.

Practice with water only so that you can get your walking pace dialed in.

1.0 gallon per thousand is a pretty common application rate for many products, but in your situation I would figure out what combination of nozzle, pressure, and walking pace allows you to cover all 5k with 4 gallons so you do not have to refill. Your application rate would then be about 0.8 gallons per thousand. - which would be fine.

Exactly.
