It depends on the type of N you are spraying, Feature itself doesn't need to be watered in.

Urea N should be fine if you keep it under 0.2 lb per 1k turf. I usually apply in the late evenings and then let my irrigation run the following morning. Anything after 4 hours and you are not getting anymore foliar uptake.

Ok. So the grass only takes up about 4 hours of the iron?

 

I did not water my app in. I mixed it with t nex and did not get any burn or bronzing. @Humbert810

 

I don't add nitrogen, but I usually water a little the morning or afternoon from my applications. I've found in the heat, it's apt to make the yard look a little sick sometimes if it just baked on the leaf material. Gives it the reddish black hue.

 

After 1 hour the amount of uptake by the plant decreases dramatically, at 4 hours the plant has taken up about as much as it can.

 

I use nitrogen to help boost absorption but the amount of nitrogen I am spraying is so small it will not burn the tips. I use only about 4oz of sprayable nitrogen as my boost, typically spray the evening before my scheduled watering.
