Hello, within the last 2 weeks or less I've noticed my grass dying. I am not sure if this is from disease, fungus or insects. At first I thought it was only from lack of water, but it is spreading rapidly. Ive noticed spots on the blades, shriveling, and looking like straw underneath. Any help is greatly appreciated!!

You need to fix the water problem First, then you can address any other problems. Lack of water will stress the grass and cause other things to happen. How much are you watering? Don't tell us the amount of time, tell us how much water how often, like 3/4" twice a week. Time is irrelevant, I water my front yard (my only St Aug) for 2 hours, but that is only 1/2" of irrigation, so you see time does not tell how much water you are putting out. Put some tuna cans (or small rain gauges) in the dry areas and measure how much water they are getting. Once it starts getting good water and recovers, then we can address if there are any other problems that need addressed.

Thanks all! Just noticed my last 2 replies didn't save?

I am located in N Florida, not much rain recently so pretty dependent on irrigation system every other day. Only know duration of watering, actual amt not known. I will get a rain guage and monitor, then report back. Have not applied anything recently, just watering. Neighbors' yard look good, so worried it's something in my yard. The yellow brown spotting on tje blades has me worried.

What is recommended watering? Im going off a schedule rather than an amount. Wondering if not correct...

Agree with @GCoco on the Gray Leaf spot. However, the really desiccated, dried out look coupled with GLS is interesting. it's like it's drought-stressed while being over-watered. This to me indicates something like cinch bugs, bill bugs, or similar. Something is biting the grass and sucking the moisture out of it. I suggest a heavy does of a bifenthrin and Carbaryl cocktail.

This is what caught me to, Grey leaf spot visible, possibility of chinch bugs/or large patch. But appears some areas are drier and others are hydrated. Maybe uneven watering/bugs/sprinkler gaps/clogs. Insecticide and Funguscide, make sure to water early in morning/check sprinklers, and frequently inspect grass for folding blades/drought stress going forward would be my plan.

I looked at several pages of GLS and yes my grass has those same symptoms and visual spots on the blades. There is dead grass like straw underneath. I was planning on using a fungicide to combat the issue -- can this applied with the pest control or should I wait a week between the two different treatments? Thanks all!!
