Hi!
We are new homeowners of a home that came with 4 poorly placed Crepe Myrtle trees.

Tree A: Next to the white upsidedown pot. This one is only about a foot from the back of the house!! There is a straight branch that is growing upwards right along the wall of the house, its branches lean over the roof, its a large branch but i think there is enough of the rest of the tree to have this one cut off.... of course the tree will be lopsided but is this my own course of action? (I am against Crepe Murder)

Tree B: Next to white fence. This tree is very close to a white fence separating us from our neighbor (she doesn't mind if branches lean over). Just want to neaten it up.

Trees C and D: Two of them on the side of the house lean too low into the nearby sidewalk, also want to neaten.

Please help me decide how to prune this!

Going to be ugly, but will eventually look better. Previous owners should have pruned it to get it growing right. Major pruning once mature is a damned if you do damned if you don’t. Hard to judge anything by pictures. Looking at it in real life is so much easier. My recommendation is to cut the worst limb. Then stand back and judge what needs to be done next. it’s amazing how much different the tree looks with just one branch gone. My solution for my crepe myrtle trees were pull up with the tractor and replace the 6 with 3 purple magnolias.
thank you, that is very good advice. I will start one branch at a time, hopefully will not have to be replaced.

I’d remove the one next to the house, just to close. (branches, roots, water, bugs, or termites) Don’t think this is the best….
Was hoping not to have to remove. The whole area is fenced in so may be hard to get a tractor in there. Would just chopping it with a saw work? I assume I would have to get the roots out also, if I want to plant some thing else in this location, right
