When I bought my house 5 years ago the were 2 green 100ft garden hoses.
They have since kinked bad enough to have fold marks in places and also one of them has a small split/leak.

I'm fairly sure it is linked to the way my wife uses it and rolls it up. I'm not dumb enough to say anything though :p

I was thinking about getting one of those kink free expandable hoses as a replacement. After wading through a ton on Amazon, I found what looked like a decent one at a reasonable price with strong brass fittings. That was back in September though and I didn't make a note of which one!

Since then I have read that the expandable hoses don't work with sprinklers because the pipe has to have water in it to get it to its full length.

I'm now considering the Bionic Steel as it is kink free but also quite light.

There are also loads of other metal hose pipes available now too - lots of cheap copies from China to skim through too.

Has anyone bought or used one before? Bionic Steel or any other metal hose.

I bought two Bionic Steel hoses in October 2021. The hoses get dragged on a flagstone path for watering some plants. So far, they have worked flawlessly. Very light and easy to wind up by hand.

Home Depot had them on clearance. Very happy that I took the gamble!!!

I'm not familiar with the bionic steel hose.
there has been lots of conversation about hoses here on TLF. I ended up buying an Eley hose a about 3 years ago. bought Flexzilla two years ago. And then went back to Eley last year. The Flexzilla is good, but i had a mouse chew through it. i had to cut out the hole and repair it. the Eley is just great...but expensive

I read the threads about Eley hoses.
A metal one has a lot of unusual coolness going for it though!
Certain products have suspicious reviews online like they might be bot accounts.
It's always good to get an opinion from an extra source.

I'm definitely getting a steel hose now.
Does anyone have any experience with any of the other steel hoses?

Yes, 5/8" is the most common garden hose size. Then there is 3/4" and 1". Less pressure loss through the larger hoses, but the trade off is the heavier weight of the hoses. 5/8" has always served me well. I was not sure of the inside diameter of the Bionic Hose and if it was smooth wall like conventional hoses is why I was asking.
