I have one . . however my yard is less than 1 inch. I will say for my needs it works well. My only caveat is get a self propelled. I rented a push and it about killed me.

 

I'm also interested to hear about these. Is there enough suction to pick up acorns and pecans laying on the ground?

 

Maybe renting one is the right answer here... don't know why I didn't think of that!

Spoke to a guy who cuts trees for a living and says these things work great, even for mulching small limbs.
But like you said, get the self propelled would be hell pushing it in 4 inches of TTTF.
