I used sedgehammer last year and it worked okay. Certainly cheaper in the "single serving" packet size compared to buying a bottle of concentrate.

This year I went with sulfentrazone and was really impressed with the versatility and quick burn on the target species. I sprayed creeping charlie and my sedge/kyllinga infestation on the same day. The creeping charlie was withered and gone in 48 hours and the sedges showed discoloration around the same time although they never entirely disappeared like the creeping charlie. That may have more to do with the relatively robust growth of the sedge where creeping charlie is notoriously (and frustratingly) fragile.

Sedgehammer did nothing to my green kyllinga. Sulfentrazone smokes it but it requires several repeat applications. I'm winning the war but it's taking time. I'm sure a solid blanket app would take care of most of it but I am apprehensive to put that much down. I have not tried Certainty but have read that it works really well on all sedges, including green kyllinga. If you are just dealing with yellow nutsedge or globe sedge then the sedgehammer will take care of it.

I always recommend Image first, and if that fails, go to Sedgehammer.

Don't overly drench Image and try as much as possible to keep it localized. I usually spray the top, then I flip it over with my foot and spray the bottom. Latitude 36 can be sensitive to herbicides (except Celsius for some reason) but will still recover. And be very accurate with Sedgehammer applications per instructions. It's not very forgiving.

Keep in mind, Sedge does not die quickly, and can seem as if it is not affected after 2 or even 3 days. Be patient and if after 10 days you see no improvement, try again or try another product.

Certainty (Sulfosulfuron) works extremely well for my yard and seems to prevent them for some time (just my experience). Nut Sedge is about the only weed I see these days pop up - got real bad beginning of spring, after spraying nothing.. so far. I tried Sedgehammer last year which did work, but not as well as certainty IMO.

This has been my experience as well. Certainty killed the slowest, but was the most complete. I found tank mixing it with celsius was more effective than certainty alone. Sedgehammer did not kill off my kyllinga, but certainty knocked it down. And just like you said, it seems to have prevented any of it form showing up this spring.
