I did my fall pre-emergent application of Prodiamine on September 29th, and until just a couple days ago, I thought I did the 6-month max of 0.415 oz/1000 sq ft (1.15lb/acre) for my 4000 sq ft yard. I now realized I mistakenly only applied 0.415 oz for the WHOLE yard, which is about 0.104 oz/1000 sq ft (<0.3lb/acre). So a quarter of what I needed to do.

I have been wanting to try overseeding for the winter, and have my eye on the SOS or other high quality annual rye seed from Barenbrug.

I thought I was SOL for overseeding this year because of the Prodiamine application. However, now that I study (really study) the label, it seems that because of the lower application rate, I may be able to overseed after 6-8 weeks.

The label only covers PRG overseeding after 6-8 weeks, how different is Annual Rye in this context?

So should I try overseeding mid-November, or just forget it this year?

Here's the label for reference:

And the most relevant table (I think):

Thanks for the advice, @Ware!

I would skip the ARG and use PRG. Even the best ARG is not going to exhibit the superior turf characteristics of the PRG.

On the timing, 8 weeks from September 29 puts you at the end of November. Establishment would take another 2-3 weeks - maybe longer because temps will be colder. So that puts you into late December.
I certainly understand how much more superior PRG is in general. However, the Barenbrug SOS and Panterra V seed is still very enticing as seems to be extremely quick to establish, which is great for me in this case. Weekend of Nov 14th is 6+ weeks from the preem application.

I would probably just wait and establish a good plan for next year.
Still not convinced to wait...but I will certainly have a solid plan for next year!
