No problem at all. Seriously though, this forum is awesome. From weed identification, application rate math, calibrating a spreader, basic DIYer to advanced lawn care techniques. It's all here and constantly growing.

Scalp and bag your grass now

Buy prodiamine and spray it down. Water it in.

Buy celsius and certainty. Wait a few days and spray it down mixed. Let it sit (Wait until its not raining for a couple of days.

 

Milorganite Greens Grade is something I would recommend looking into and see if it's available in your area.

 

are you sure it's crabgrass you're seeing? While the germination period has started you don't typically see the full plant until the summer months. If you have a full yard of any weed this time of year I'm betting it's more of a winter weed. Post a pic and see if the forum can help identify it.

 

So from what I can tell it looks like I have crabgrass, clover and chickweed. Thoughts

 

Might have some Dallis grass in there too. Image kills Nutsedge has been helping me with that.

Keep the Bermuda short, start a 4-1-2 fert soon and enjoy!

 

That looks pretty darn mature for crabgrass in early April. It'll be easier to identify once it starts sending out seed heads. I'd start pulling what you can while it is still somewhat cool outside.

I'm going to +1 on the Dallisgrass. Celsius WG is one of the first herbicides I threw down and it wiped out 90% of my weed issue. The last to go was the Dallisgrass (more commonly referred to as the devils weed. it sucks!). Glyphosate and MSMA are the only things I know of that will completely kill Dallisgrass. Gly will kill the surrounding Bermuda, MSMA won't. You're technically not supposed to use MSMA on residential lawns, but it is extremely effective and will even kill Nutsedge.

Once you take care of killing the weeds and ensuring you stay current on your pre emergent (prodiamine) treatments, the weeds will be a thing of the past. (I have been there) Last year was a headache, this year I have very minimal weeds, (some Poa Annua, but that's it)

But, if that is Dallisgrass, it's not going ANYWHERE until you do something about it.

 

So I scalped and bagged my lawn yesterday evening after throwing down some Scotts weed and feed last week, that i had leftover from last year. I took the yard down to 1 3/8" with my rotary mower but i feel like it already looks better than at the over 2" i was maintaining it at. Planning on maintaining at 1 9/16" as that is one notch above what i scalped at. Still needs to green up and hoping it will start to thicken up. Will have to continually spot spray weeds as I have a pretty significant helping of them. Excited for this season though.

 

Will MSMA work with air temps in low 70s? I have some dallis grass the spectracide didn't get.
